In accordance with a decision by the Federal Council, libraries throughout Switzerland are now allowed to open their doors again. The Schaffhausen libraries are pleased to welcome customers at the two locations Agnesenschütte and Stadtbibliothekek during the usual opening hours.
Despite this good news we are still in a special situation. Public life does not yet know a normal state. The libraries are opening step by step in order to implement the hygiene measures.
Therefore, until further notice, only the lending and return of media and the use of photocopying machines is possible on site. Media reservations and orders cannot yet be made. The W-LAN access. The reading rooms as well as learning and workstations are blocked. There are also no events taking place at the moment.
When visiting the library, the rules issued by the FOPH apply: A minimum distance of 2 meters to other people, regular hand washing, sneezing and coughing in the crook of your arm, staying home if symptoms of illness occur. In addition, the FOPH recommends wearing a protective mask in public places. However, masks are not compulsory. Persons from risk groups are still asked not to come to the library.
The Schaffhausen libraries provide customers with disinfectants. However, gloves or masks are not available.
